“I write to give myself strength. I write to be the characters that I am not. I write to explore all the things I'm afraid of. ”

~ Joss Whedon

I'm afraid of dying too, Joss.  It's okay.  *pat pats*

    1. I love the things that we can do in our stories that we can't otherwise do in real life. It makes the craft that much more fun. I like to write characters that I want to be. Usually stronger characters. Sometimes characters that are more vulnerable, so that I can comfort them with my words or help them become stronger. Then there are the other ones...the ones that come from the scariest places in human behavior. I write them down so that I can poke and prod at them, I think. Psychology has always interested me. I think that it is great that, in the act of writing (and the research), I can play a psychologist. You know?
