About a Girl: Who is Joy?

I'm Joy Bernardo - writer, student for life, daughter, friend, artist, nerd, movie lover, avid coffee drinker, obsessive reader, and girl.  I have also been a janitor, a college graduate, a receptionist, a child care worker, a teacher, a gas station attendant, and a tutor.  I've tried on many different hats and have determined that they all go with different outfits.  I don't regret any of them.  Except for that floppy one with the feathers.  That one was just ridiculous.  My favorite past times include any of the OLL events (NaNoWriMo, Camp NaNoWriMo, etc.), baking, sewing, cuddling, and singing to small woodland creatures.  I'm still learning how to properly use a semicolon and I frequently like to break the rules for sentence fragments.  Cause they're awesome.  Just like me.

I have just had my first couple short stories picked up by a short story anthology titled, Stupefying Stories by Rampant Loon.  Look for "The Key" and "Fulfilling" amongst the wonderful titles in their collection.

My blog will consist of my writing woes, craft advice, book recommendations, and various short stories.  At times I will quote Chuck Wendig, Natalie Goldberg, or a plethora of other writers that I find inspirational; in hopes that their words will inspire you as well.

When I'm not here, you can find me on FacebookHubPages, or on Tumblr. If you have any questions, feel free to send them my way and don't forget to say hi!
